 Notice to Mariners

 Western Erie Canal – Rochester

October 10, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that Genesee Rowing Club will hold a regatta on Saturday, October 11^th, and Sunday, October 12^th, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The event will start at the New Jefferson Bridge, on the Genesee River and will proceed north across the Erie Canal to the Elmwood Bridge (E-156). Approximately 250 rowing boats will participate. Law enforcement and safety boats will be present to monitor the event.

Boaters must reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching the event participants crossing the navigation channel and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
