Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal and Cayuga Lake – Oswego Fulton Minetto and Ithaca

October 6, 2025

 

Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Oswego Canal and Ithaca on the following schedule:

• Tuesday, October 7^th – Terminal Wall in Oswego, below Lock O-8.
• Tuesday, October 7^th – Lock O-8 in Oswego, southeast approach wall.
• Wednesday, October 8^th – Lock O-3 in Fulton, southeast approach wall.
• Wednesday, October 8^th – Lock O-5 in Minetto, southeast guide piers.
• Wednesday, October 8^th – Lock O-3 in Fulton, northwest approach wall.
• Thursday, October 9^th - Lock O-2 in Fulton, lock chamber and surrounding area.
• Friday, October 10^th – Ithaca, western breakwater area.

The inspection areas will be marked by a dive boat and commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph.
