Eastern Erie Canal – Schoharie to Alplaus

October 3, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that a marathon rowing event will occur on Saturday, October 4th, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The event will start at Schoharie Crossing west of Erie Canal Lock E-12 in Tribes Hill, continue through Lock E-8 in Scotia and finish in Alplaus near Mohawk Valley Marine. Approximately 4 rowing shells will participate and be accompanied by outboard escort boats.

Boaters must reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 mph.
