 Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Scotia to Alplaus

September 26, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that a regatta will be occurring from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 28^th. The event will occur between the Western Gateway Bridge (E-13) and Mohawk Valley Marina in Alplaus, with a turnaround point one mile west of the marina. Approximately 200 rowing shells will participate and be accompanied by outboard escort boats. Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5mph, and use caution when participants are turning around in the river.

Law enforcement boats will be present.
