Notice to Mariners

 Western Erie Canal – Lockport and Brockport

September 19, 2025

 

Mariners are advised of underwater surveys occurring on the Western Erie Canal starting on the following schedule:

  • Monday, September 22nd – Erie Canal, Lock Maintenance Section Drydock Gate in Lockport.
  • Tuesday, September 23rd – Village of Brockport, on the south side of the Canal.

 

The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters should come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph in these areas.
