Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Rotterdam

September 15, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that they may experience heavier than usual currents downstream (east of) and lower than normal water levels above (west of) Erie Canal Lock E-9 in Rotterdam during the day on Tuesday, September 16th, due to work activities on the moveable dam.

Boaters should also use caution when entering and exiting the lock due to work boat activity in the vicinity of the lock. Water levels above the lock may remain lower than normal for the remainder of the week.
