Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal - Mechanicville

September 2, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that a bridge inspection will be conducted on the Champlain Canal according to the following schedule:

• Wednesday and Thursday, 9/3&4/25 – State Route 67 Bridge (C-4A) over the Champlain Canal in Mechanicville. 

                                                      

This bridge will be inspected using an under-bridge inspection unit (UBIU), which will be deployed from the deck of the bridge. Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a skiff moving below the bridge.

Boaters transiting this area must reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5mph.
