Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Whitehall

August 18, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring today, August 18^th, on the Route 4 Bridge (C-29) structure over the Champlain Canal, Whitehall, Washington County.

Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a bucket boat and skiff moving below each bridge being inspected.

Boaters should reduce speed, sound horns, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
