Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Tribes Hill

June 2, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that a barge mounted crane and work boats will be performing vehicle recovery operations below (east of) Erie Canal Lock E-12 in Tribes Hill, starting on Tuesday, June 3rd. These operations will be occurring in the navigation channel and should be completed by the end of the day on Friday, June 6th. Boaters should use caution, reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching the work area and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 mph.
