Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal – Fulton

October 6, 2026

 

Mariners are advised of an underwater inspection occurring on the Oswego Canal on the following schedule:

Wednesday, October 7 – Oswego Canal Lock O-3 in Fulton – Power Forebay Wall, immediately southeast of the lock, and located at the Canal Landing Marina.

 

The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching divers, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. All commercial and recreational vessel operators must plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time.
