Eastern Erie and Champlain Canals – Waterford and Rotterdam

Mariners are advised of bridge inspections occurring on structures over the Erie and Champlain Canals on the following schedule:
Tuesday, September 8 – 4th Street Bridge (E-2) over the Erie Canal, below Erie Canal Lock E-2 in Waterford and Route 32 Bridge (E-3) over the Erie Canal, above Erie Canal Lock E-2 in Waterford.
Wednesday, September 9 - Route 103 Bridge (E-16) over the Erie Canal at Erie Canal Lock E-9 in Rotterdam.
Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11 – 126th Street Bridge (C-2), over the Champlain Canal in Waterford.
Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a bucket boat and skiff moving below each bridge being inspected.
Boaters should reduce speed, sound horns, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
