Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal – Minetto and Oswego

August 21, 2026

 

Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Oswego Canal on the following schedule:

  • Wednesday, August 26th – Oswego Canal Lock O-5 in Minetto – Southwest retaining wall, southeast approach guide piers and southwest approach guide piers.
  • Thursday, August 27th – Oswego Canal Lock O-6 in Oswego – Northeast approach wall.

The inspection areas will be marked by a dive boat and commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph. Boaters must avoid inspection areas.
