 Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Canajoharie to Fonda

August 21, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that a paddling event will occur on Saturday, August 22^nd, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event will start at the State Boat Launch in Canajoharie, east of NY Route 10 Bridge (E-24), continue through Erie Canal Lock E-13 in Yosts, finishing at the boat launch just west of NY Route 30A Bridge (E-23). Approximately 250 paddle craft will participate and be accompanied by law enforcement  escort boats.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 mph.
