Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Auxiliary Navigation Buoys

May 8, 2015

 

Mariners are advised that additional (uncharted) red and green navigational buoys have been placed at the following locations to guide vessels through the paths of deepest water:

 

at mile 13 near G “49A” and Lock E7 - green can(s);

mile 57 near G “333” and Flat Creek - green can(s);

mile 75 near R “450” and Nowadaga Creek - green can(s);

mile 85 near G “505” and Spohn Creek - green can(s);

mile 86 near R “512” - green can(s);

mile 87 near R “512B” - red nun(s);

mile 88 near R “512D” and Fulmer Creek - green can(s);

mile 90 near G “531” and Steele Creek – green can(s);

mile 93 near G “551” and Bridenbecker Creek - red nun(s);

mile 95 near R “532” and Sterling Creek - red nun(s);

mile 98 near R “546” and Budlong Creek - red nun(s);

mile 102 near R “568” and Gridley Creek - red nun(s);

mile 106 near G “589” and Crane Creek – red nun(s);

mile 109 near G “605” and Ninemile Creek - green can(s);

mile 125 near G “667” and Wood Creek – red nun(s);

mile 128 near R “682” and Fish Creek - red nun(s);

mile 129 near G “683” - green can(s);

mile 236 near R “722” and Palmyra boat ramp - red nun(s);

mile 279 east of Smith Street Bridge (Bridge E-183) - green can(s); and

mile 320 east of FRR Railroad Bridge (Bridge E-231) - green can(s).
