Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal & Cayuga-Seneca Canals

July 28, 2017

 

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-24 Baldwinsville & E-25 Mays Point, along with Cayuga-Seneca Canal Lock CS-1 Cayuga (commonly referred to as “Mud Lock”) will reopen tomorrow, July 29th at 7:00 AM with a strict “No Wake”, no more than 5 MPH speed restriction on the Erie Canal between Locks E-24 & E-25 and on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal between Lock CS-1 and its junction with the Erie Canal.

At that point the entire New York State Canal System will be open to navigation.

Mariners are also reminded to watch for debris and off-station Aids to Navigation sometimes associated with higher water events.
