Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Fort Miller

July 28, 2023

Mariners are advised that a paddle craft event will take place on the Champlain Canal on Sunday, July 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will start at the Route 4 Rest Stop, ½ mile north of Champlain Canal Lock C-6 in Fort Miller, proceed through Lock C-5 in Northumberland, and finish at Alfred Z. Solomon Launch at Hudson Crossing Park in Schuylerville.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting the event and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.                                        

Law enforcement will be present.
