Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Scotia

June 1, 2023

Mariners are advised of a series of racing shell regatta events that will be occurring at on Saturday, June 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will start in the vicinity of the Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady, in the navigation channel from Buoy R "82" to Buoy R "100".

There will be breaks between heats lasting no more than 30 minutes during which traffic may pass as directed. Law enforcement boats will be positioned to monitor boat traffic and safety boats will be present to direct boater traffic. Boaters must follow all instructions from the law enforcement and safety boats at the event, reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when traversing this area.

Boaters should plan itineraries accordingly.
