 Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal

August 2, 2022

Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Champlain Canal, on the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, August 2nd – Champlain Lock C-3 – (Mechanicville) Southeast Approach Cribs, Southwest Approach Wall and Northwest Approach Wall
  • Wednesday, August 3rd – Champlain Canal Lock C-12 – (Whitehall) Sluice Gate and Taintor Gate
  • Thursday, August 4th – Champlain Canal Lock C-6 (Fort Miller) Southeast Approach Wall and Southwest Approach Wall

The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters should reduce speed and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas.
