Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Brighton
June 17, 2015
Mariners are advised that bridge rehabilitation activities on Winton Road (Bridge E-143) over the Erie Canal are occurring and will continue through September 4th. The governing minimum overhead clearance of 15.5’ for this section of canal will be maintained at all times. The channel width will be reduced to 60 feet accommodate staged construction. Traffic will initially be directed by navigational aids to use the northern half of the channel, and then midway through the project will be directed to use the southern half.
