Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Tonawanda

July 1, 2022

Mariners are advised of a fireworks display at the Webster St. Bridge (E-248) in Tonawanda on Monday, July 4th at dusk. The Canal in the vicinity of the bridge, including a 200-foot radius around the bridge, will be closed to vessel traffic at 9:00 pm and will reopen at approximately 10:15 pm, after the event. Law enforcement will be present.

Boaters transiting the area should be aware that set-up work for the event will begin at 2:00 pm. Boaters traveling through the area after this time should travel at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph.
