Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Scotia

June 30, 2022

Mariners are advised of a fireworks display in the vicinity of Mohawk Harbor on Friday, July 1st at dusk. The navigation channel from Buoy G "89" to Buoy R "84" will be closed to vessel traffic from 9:00 pm to 9:15 pm.

Additionally, mariners are advised of a fireworks display in the vicinity of Jumpin Jacks Drive-in on Friday, July 1st at dusk. A portion of the Mohawk River, north of the Isle of the Cayugas and will be closed to vessel traffic from 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm. These areas will be patrolled by police during the events. 

Additionally, Lock E-7 in Vischer Ferry will operate until 11:00 pm on Friday to accommodate spectator vessels leaving the events.
