Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Fort Plain
September 10, 2021
Mariners are advised of an underwater inspection of the SW/Upper approach wall of Erie Canal Lock E-15 (Fort Plain) on Monday, September 13th.
Delays may occur, so plan itineraries accordingly. It is suggested that mariners contact Lock E-15 by phone at (518) 993-4161 prior to coming within VHF range to make the lock tender aware of the intended transit, and to get updates on expected delays.
The inspection area will be marked by commercial and recreational diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting this area.
