Notice to Mariners

Central Erie Canal & Cayuga/Seneca Canal – Water Level Update

August 31, 2021

 

Mariners are advised that flows are receding, causing water levels to drop in the following areas of the Canal system:

Erie Canal

Lock E-24 (Baldwinsville) to Lock E-25 (May’s Point), including Cross Lake

Cayuga – Seneca Canal

Lock CS-1 (Cayuga)

Cayuga/Seneca Canal to the Erie Canal Junction

As water levels continue to recede, boaters should secure any vessels in these areas.
