Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Waterford/Vischer Ferry
July 13, 2021
Mariners are advised that the Canal from Erie Canal Lock E-2 in Waterford to Lock E-7 in Vischer Ferry is closed to navigation due to high water levels and floating debris from recent heavy rainfall until further notice. The Canal is now closed from Erie Canal Lock E-2 in Waterford to Lock E-19 in Frankfort. This section of the Canal will reopen as water flows recede and conditions become safe for navigation to resume.
Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly. Updates will follow.
