Notice to Mariners
Oswego Canal – Hours of Operation
June 15, 2022
Mariners are advised that effective Friday, June 17, 2022, Oswego Canal Lock O-5 (Minetto), Lock O-6 (Oswego), and Lock O-7 (Oswego) will operate on demand until 10:00 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week until Sunday, September 11, 2022. Locks O-5, O-6, and O-7 will also operate on demand until 10:00 pm on Monday, July 4, 2022, and Monday, September 5, 2022.
Mariners may now transit the entire Oswego Canal between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm each weekend. Additional information regarding specific hours at all Canal system locks may be found here.
Boaters requesting passage along the Oswego Canal should use Marine Radio Band 13 as lock operators will be covering multiple locations. If unable to reach lock operators via marine radio, please attempt communication via the phone numbers to Locks O-6, O-7, and/or O-8.
