Notice to Mariners
Champlain Canal-Mechanicville

Mariners are advised of lower than normal water levels above Champlain Lock C-3 in Mechanicville. New York State Electric Gas (NYSEG) is maintaining a lower than normal headpond level in order to complete repairs on the dam’s crest gates. This condition will continue until repairs are completed by NYSEG later this summer. The reduced water levels are lower than normal but still within safe navigation limits. The reduced levels may impact local docks.
