Canal Opening Update

May 24, 2019

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Lock E-25 in May’s Point to Lock E-24 in Baldwinsville including passage through the Cayuga-Seneca/ Erie Canal Junction in the town of Tyre, Seneca County will open at 7:00 am on Saturday, May 25. This opening will allow boaters passage over the full length of Erie Canal from Waterford to Tonawanda and access to the Cayuga and Seneca Canal.

Boaters are to proceed at No Wake speeds through these areas of the Canal as they are responsible for any damage their wakes cause.

River conditions still preclude our ability to open the Oswego and Champlain Canals for the next several days.  We will provide additional updates as conditions improve.
