UPDATE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CANALWAY TRAIL IN LOCKPORT EXTENDED
Access will be Restricted Through Friday, Dec. 18
The New York State Canal Corporation today announced that ongoing construction in the vicinity of Lock E-34/35 in the City of Lockport requires the temporary closure of the Canalway Trail adjacent to the lock to be extended through Friday, Dec. 18.
The Canal Corporation appreciates the public’s patience while this work is being completed.
The New York State Canal System is comprised of four historic waterways, the Erie, the Champlain, the Oswego and the Cayuga-Seneca Canals. Spanning 524 miles, the waterways link the Hudson River, Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, the Finger Lakes, Niagara River and Lake Erie with communities rich in history and culture.
