Notice to Mariners
Oswego and Eastern Erie Canal.
June 9, 2017
Mariners are advised that the Oswego Canal is now open and the closed sections of the eastern Erie Canal will reopen at 1:00 PM today.
Mariners are advised that swift currents are still occurring, and to be particularly cautious of cross currents when entering Locks E-8 through E-15 westbound.
Mariners are also advised that they may encounter debris, and to use bow and stern thrusters sparingly.
Mariners are further advised that, while there have been no reports, buoys could be off station from this recent high water event. Mariners are to report Aids to Navigation anomalies by text message to (518) 461-0942.
