Notice to Mariners
Cayuga-Seneca Canal – Watkins Glen
August 26, 2016
Mariners are advised of a high speed regatta involving personal watercraft being held off of the Clute Park beach in Watkins Glen on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th. Spectator boats should anchor along the back stretch of the course (in an east-west direction, parallel to shore), rather than in the navigation channel, which is the entrance to the Seneca Canal (sometimes locally referred to as the Chemung Canal). Course markers are round-shaped red, yellow and white colored buoys 3’ in diameter and mariners should stay at least 300’ away from these at all times.
