Notice to Mariners

Cayuga-Seneca Canal – Seneca Falls

May 18, 2023

Mariners are advised that the upper navigation pool at Cayuga Seneca Canal Lock CS-2/3 in Seneca Falls has been lowered approximately 2 ft. below the normal navigation level, until further notice, due to ongoing maintenance by the local hydroelectric operator. Warning buoys have been placed in isolated shallow areas of the navigation channel that may have a draft as low as 7 ft. These lower water levels may affect boats and docks on the impoundment between Lock CS-2/3 and Lock CS-4.

A chart covering the affected area can be found at http://www.canals.ny.gov/navinfo/charts/14786cs4.png and
