NOTICE TO MARINERS
CANAL SYSTEM UPDATE
HOURS OF OPERATION & LAST DAY OF NAVIGATION
September 7, 2022
The New York State Canal Corporation announced today the following update:
Hours of Operation
Effective Thursday, September 15, 2022, all locks and lift bridges on the Canal system will operate daily between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Last Day of Navigation
The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. All recreational vessel operators should plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time. Commercial operators requiring passage until October 31, 2022, should contact Danielle LaRue at 315-423-2340 to obtain a Post Navigation Season Permit.
2023 Navigation Season
The Canal Corporation anticipates opening the Canal system in May 2023 for the 199th season of navigation. The opening date and hours of operation will be announced in a subsequent Notice to Mariners.
