Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Lockport/Gasport Update
August 13, 2022
Mariners are advised, Lock E-34/35 in Lockport is now fully functioning on an on-demand basis for all vessels.
Mariners are also advised the Gasport Lift Bridge (E-222) in Gasport over the Erie Canal is fully operational. The Canal is open to navigation between the Gasport Lift Bridge and the Gasport Guard Gate 17, east of the Gasport Lift Bridge; however, vessels must travel at a "No Wake" speed (maximum speed of 5 mph) between these two structures until further notice.
