Notice to Mariners
Champlain Canal – Fort Edward to Smith’s Basin
August 5, 2022
Mariners are advised that water levels in the Canal from Champlain Canal Lock C-7 in Fort Edward to Lock C-9 in Smith’s Basin are 12 to 15 inches lower than normal due to low water supply from the Glens Falls Feeder Canal and high temperatures. This lower water water level may affect boats and docks on this area of the Champlain Canal.
