Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Brockport
Mariners are advised that a center navigation light chain is hanging below the Redman Road Bridge, SR 31 (E-184) over the Erie Canal in Brockport. The bridge is located 0.7 miles west of the Brockport Guard Gate. This chain extends down from the bridge approximately eight feet from the surface of the water, over the center of the navigation channel. Department of Transportation maintenance has been notified.
Boaters should proceed with caution when transiting this area and use either side of the navigation channel to avoid the hazard.
