Erie Canal – Scotia

July 30, 2021

Mariners are advised that the Electric City Sprints will be holding a rowing regatta on Saturday, July 31st from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. The event course will begin just west of Freemans Bridge (E-11) and end at the Western Gateway Bridge (E-13) over the Erie Canal in Scotia. There will be approximately 500 participants competing in events.

The course will be marked with buoys, with spotters and law enforcement vessels positioned along the course. There will be scheduled 10-minute breaks for boaters to pass across a part of the course. These breaks will occur approximately every 75 minutes.

Law enforcement boats will be positioned to monitor boat traffic and safety boats will be present to direct boaters. Boaters must follow all instructions from the law enforcement and safety boats at the event.

Boaters proceeding through the event course area during breaks should use caution at a "No Wake" speed.
