Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Frankfort/Whitesboro

July 18, 2021

Mariners are advised that high water levels of the Erie Canal have reduced the vertical clearance of bridges over the Erie Canal between Erie Canal Lock E-19 in Frankfort and Lock E-20 in Whitesboro over the Erie Canal below the governing 21’. The controlling height is currently approximately 20.2’ at Railroad Bridge (E-46) over the Erie Canal in Marcy.

Boaters should proceed with caution and verify overhead clearances at bridges before proceeding.
