Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal - Mohawk River

October 1, 2020

Mariners are advised that high water levels along Mohawk River sections of the Erie Canal have reduced the vertical clearance of Bridge E-14A (I-890 connector) to 20.97’, (Updated 10/05), which is below the governing 21’ for this section of canal. 

Updates will follow.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. All recreational and commercial vessel operators should plan their trips to ensure they exit the system by that time. For more information, click here.
