NOTICE TO MARINERS

CAYUGA-SENECA CANAL – TEMPORARY FOUNTAIN

September 2, 2020

Mariners are advised that the Canal Corporation has installed a temporary fountain within the navigation channel of the Cayuga – Seneca Canal between the Ovid Street and Bridge Street bridges in Seneca Falls.

On display daily from today, September 2nd through September 8th, the illuminated fountain will spray water 80 feet into the air over the canal and each evening beginning at 8:26 pm, the fountain lights will cycle through the colors of purple, white, and gold to signify the centennial of the 19th Amendment.

The fountain area, along the south shore near the Seneca Knitting Mill, is marked by buoys and boaters should proceed at a “No Wake” speed while transiting this area until the fountain is removed on September 8th.

The Canal Corporation urges all users to register to receive updates through the “Notice to Mariners” notification program at www.canals.ny.gov.
