NOTICE TO MARINERS
LOCK OPERATING SCHEDULE – CHAMPLAIN CANAL
June 24, 2020
The New York State Canal Corporation announced today that portions of the New York State Canal system are scheduled to open on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. for the 2020 navigation season.
Construction and maintenance activities continue at several locks across the system. The projected opening date for those locations is noted below in bold font.

Champlain C-1 Waterford June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-2 Halfmoon June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-3 Mechanicville June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-4 Stillwater June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-5 Schuylerville June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-6 Fort Miller June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-7 Fort Edward June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-8 Fort Edward June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-9 Smith’s Basin June 26 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-11 Comstock July 1 7 am – 5 pm
Champlain C-12 Whitehall August 10 7 am – 5 pm
Vessels arriving southbound at Lock C-4 in Stillwater or arriving northbound at Lock C-3 in Mechanicville prior to scheduled closing will be admitted through both locks.
Locks C-7 and C-8 in Fort Edward will require scheduled lockings until August 10. Lock C-7 will provide lockings on odd-numbered hours and Lock C-8 will provide lockings on even-numbered hours. Scheduled times will be northbound on the hour and southbound at quarter past the hour.
The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation on October 14, 2020.
