Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Utica and Rochester areas
May 14, 2015
Mariners are advised of maintenance dredging operations in the following locations for a number of weeks:
At mile 85 near G “505” and Spohn Creek;
mile 93 near G “551” and Bridenbecker Creek;
mile 95 near R “532” and Sterling Creek;
mile 98 near R “546” and Budlong Creek;
mile 106 near G “589” and Crane Creek;
mile 109 near G “605” and Ninemile Creek;
mile 125 near G “667” and Wood Creek;
mile 235 near R “772” and Ganargua Creek; and
mile 261 at the Genesee River Crossing.
Dredge personnel can be reached on Channel 13 via marine band VHF radio. Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed when transiting these areas.
