Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal and Cayuga-Seneca Canal Junction

June 11, 2019

Mariners are advised that dredging operations are occurring at the Erie Canal and Cayuga-Seneca Canal Junction. A dredge pipe on the bottom of the canal between, buoy G545 and buoy R546, is submerged nine feet below the surface of the Canal. Two danger pin buoys are positioned outside of the green and red buoys.

Boaters should use the eastern channel of the junction, as the western channel will be occupied by dredge equipment.          

When transiting this area use caution and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed.
