Notice to Mariners
Canal Update – Champlain Canal
May 28, 2019
Mariners are advised the Oswego Canal is scheduled to open at 7:00 am on Wednesday, May 29th. At that time all sections of the NYS Canal System will be open to navigation except for the Champlain Canal. High water levels, resulting in dangerous conditions, preclude our ability to set navigation buoys which are necessary for safety of the boating public. We are hoping to set the buoys in the next several days.
We will provide additional updates as conditions improve.
