Notice to Mariners
New York State Canal System

Mariners are reminded that the New York State Canal System will close for the 2018 navigation season on Wednesday, October 10th at 5pm.
Vessels transiting between the Hudson River and Great Lakes or between the Hudson River and Lake Champlain will not be admitted at entrance locks (Lock E-35, Lockport; Lock O-8, Oswego; Lock C-12, Whitehall; Lock C-1, Halfmoon; Lock E-2, Waterford) after Wednesday, October 10th. Vessels in transit at the time of the Canal’s closing will be permitted to complete the transit through the Canal.
