Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal/Mohawk River - Schenectady Area

August 28, 2018

 

The Blenheim-Gilboa Project will be closing the adult fish passage and opening the juvenile fish passage at the Vischer Ferry Project (adjacent to Erie Canal Lock E7) during the week of September 2.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, Sept. 3 Water level at Vischer Ferry starts approaching crest in the PM.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 4 Water level at Vischer Ferry 0.5’ below crest by AM. The juvenile passage will be opened on Dam F, with the water level starting to rise by 11:00 AM.  Water level at Vischer Ferry will return to normal level in approximately 24 to 48 hours, depending on the river flow.

Unforeseen precipitation and high water conditions may delay this schedule or decrease the time to refill. Should you have any questions, please contact (518) 287-6340.
