For Stage One, applicants need to provide the following:
- Proposal: A brief narrative (approx. 5 pages) describing the overall vision of the proposal and how it relates to the aim of the Competition. The narrative should address the evaluation criteria listed here and include a description of how the proposal addresses the Canal System’s challenges and opportunities. Applicants are encouraged to provide any graphics and/or images (in addition to the narrative) that will help illustrate their idea.
- Team qualifications: Resumes of team members and a portfolio of prior projects that demonstrate the experience of the team as it relates to the purposes of the Competition.
- Support for implementation: While it is not necessary to partner with a local jurisdiction along the Canal System or a non-profit organization engaged in canal-related work in Stage One, applicants may want to note any partnerships with local or canal-related organizations they envision can facilitate the implementation of their idea.
Applications must be submitted via the form below by 5:00 p.m. EST January 12, 2018. The proposal document will have to be uploaded as a PDF file and should not exceed 20 MB. Upon submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email, which should be kept for future reference.
