Canal and Trail Seasonal (Facility Operations Assistant 1)
Hourly Salary: $15.19
Work independently or on a crew to assist in maintaining canal equipment and/or the recreational canal trail network. May assist with the full range of maintenance activities associated with maintaining canal equipment and/or the recreational canal trail network, including but not limited to, maintaining grounds, structures and facilities along the historic canal and maintenance sites; vegetation management; pothole repair; repairing gates; sign maintenance; bench and picnic table repairs; and storm drainage maintenance and repairs. Ability to safely use hand and power tools and may be responsible for operating equipment such as push mowers, riding mowers, and/or forklifts.
- Must be at least 18
- Physically capable of performing duties assigned (work will predominately be outdoors)
- No specific education or experience required
- Possess and continuously maintain a valid driver license
Positions available throughout New York State in Fort Edward, Waterford, Fonda, Utica, Lyons, Pittsford, and Lockport.
Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm. This is a 40 hour/week assignment. Occasional paid Saturday work for overtime or emergency services may be available.
