Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Canajoharie to Little Falls

Mariners are advised that, barring additional rainfall and subject to restoration of safe navigation conditions, the remaining closed section of the Erie Canal from Canajoharie to Little Falls is now projected to re-open at 7 am on Sunday, July 9. At that point, the entire NYS Canal System will be open for navigation following last week’s high water, excessive current and heavy debris caused by heavy rains.
Mariners should navigate with caution on sections of the Canal which have reopened and report any obstructions or misplaced navigational aids to the New York State Canal Corporation.
