Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal - Middleport to The Tonawandas
September 6, 2016
Mariners are advised that bridge inspection activities will take place by barge at the following structures between Middleport and the Tonawandas (Niagara & Erie Counties) as part of NYSDOT’s Bridge Inspection Program (Contract D031322).
E-216 Main Street SR 271
E-217 Carmen Road
E-220 Slayton Settlement Road
E-224 Canal Road
E-225 Day Road
E-229 Adam Street Lift Bridge
E-232 Pine Street
E-233 Main Street SR 31
E-248 Webster Street
These activities will continue until the closed of the navigation season.
Warning signs will be placed at each end of the work zone.
Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a “No – Wake” speed when traversing these areas.
