Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Lockport & North Tonawanda
July 23, 2015
Mariners are advised of two yellow temporary special use buoys marking underwater flow meters on the Erie Canal in the City of Lockport immediately downstream of the Steven Street Bridge near the upper terminal wall, and in the City of North Tonawanda near Mayor’s Park. These buoys are being placed today and tomorrow and will be in place for a few weeks.
Mariners are to proceed by these special buoys and their associated subsurface sensing equipment at a “No Wake” speed not to exceed 5 MPH.
